All thanks and praise be to our blessed Heavenly Father, who has given to us a wondrous gift, another boy! Jesse (7 lbs, 12 oz.) was born around 5:30 PM, on April 28, 2008 DV a new brother to Phillip.
He came into the world quickly and dangerously. He was born after 45 minutes in the hospital, making for about 3 hours of labor in all. He made his entrance, however, with his umbilical cord around his neck, cutting off all circulation. In God's glorious grace, the midwives were able to reach in and cut the cord. Even though the baby's heartbeat dipped way down and he didn't breathe for a few minutes, God enabled him to quickly recover with vigor and strength!
Praise God, baby and mother are both doing well! Please join us in thanking Him that His mercies endure forever!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! We trust and pray that the Lord will equip you both to raise him in the fear and the knowledge of the Lord. May he one day by God's grace "bud" and bear spiritual fruit. We are delighted for you both.
By the way, we arrive in Canada in late June. We have bought a house in Scarborough that has room to host the whole Van Dyken clan. Perhaps we can get together once things settle for us all a bit.

Congratulations! We are so thankful that God preserved Jen & baby Jesse throughout the scary beginning. If I remember correctly, he looks so much like Phillip did as a newborn (from the pictures).
